I talked to an admissions person at MCW today, and she informed me that the admissions committee has not decided how they will do the interviews yet. They might wait for verified apps from AMCAS, or they might use the unverified apps that everyone mailed in to determine whether an interview will be given. Either way interviews will not start until the end of October or later. (this does not include early Decision apps)

Just sharing the info.

after all that freakin stuff, transcripts and everything 😡

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH

ok there I feel better.... 😀

Yeah, MCW rarely starts interviewing applicants before Early November (Even Last year). They wanna have a good number of applications in before they start granting interviews.... But they are very starightforward about their process and welcome phone calls to answer any questions.

Can I just say I'm hating MCW right now? I mailed in my printed application specifically without the listing of schools I was applying to so they wouldn't know. AMCAS doesn't tell the schools, so why should I? I get an E-mail from them telling me to fax or mail the page with the medicals schools on it. Who the **** do they think they are?
Then I get a letter from them today saying that since I am in grad school they need a letter from my dean. I'll have my masters in febraury (or some spelling) and my PI wrote a letter of rec. Right now I'm saying screw them. And I really doubt I will change my mind anytime soon.

you already have tons of interviews right?

one school isn't going to make a difference

MCW really pissed me off. I asked for my potential interview to be in 2001, cause I'll be abroad in 2002.

I got this misleading letter back:

"We received your request for a courtesy interview at MCW. However, we neither received your certified application from AMCAS nor your official transcripts. Until we have either, we cannot promise you a letter before January 15th.

If we do receive one of the above, and it verifies what your copy of the application indicates, I would be happy to extend an interview to you. Keep in touch

The last paragraph sounds like they were giving me an interview if I sent in the verifying info. But when I called, they said they haven't even looked at my app. Go figure? Oh well, small potatoes compared to other things going on right now.
