Hi every one,

I'm a final year BVSc student from India. The thing is i really want to be a human doctor. But i couldnt get in to a medical school in India as getting in to a medical school in India is very difficuilt compared to a Vet school. I dropped off my dentistry offer as i dont want to be confined to a particular area ( i mean mouth). Can any one tell me the Schools other than in India, to take up medicine studies, as in India we need to take up an entrance test that is really really competetive and students waste on an averege 2-3 years practicing for the exams. the toppers make it to med schools,follewed by vet school, dentistry, ayurveda, homeopathy, siddha and so on. Please tell me the costs and how long it takes to become a human doc abroad.plez help guys

You'd be much better off posting this in a human medical forum rather than the vet forum because most of us know very little about the med school process, which is a little different than vet school, and the cost of different schools, etc.

Be prepaired to pay about 20-30K USD per year as an international student, and I don't think you will be eligible for any federal aid. Assuming you have all the classes needed to apply to Med school, you will have to take an 'enterance' exam, the MCAT - pretty tough exam. Then its 4 years of Med School, followed by 3-7 years of residency and internships, before you are a fully licenced, vetted, and able to practice Doctor.

piss off from the vet forum. Go and ask the medical forum. You should never do vet med if you have no interest in it. Now that you want to change careers is not our problem.
