Hi all, do you know if any school will automatically consider you for MD even if your MD/PhD application is rejected? I want to apply to MD/PhD, but I still want to do a MD in case I cannot get into a MSTP. I try to look up the info on the web, but some schools, if not most, don't state their policies explicitly (for example, University of Pittsburgh).

Please let me know if you have any info. Thank you very much.

That is something that was usually stated in the secondary application for the MDPhD program that you are applying to. Schools that do this for sure I can tell you are : Cornell, UCSD, Chicago (Pritzker), Harvard, Yale, NYU, USC, and U of Washington (I think?😕 ).

You can add U of Pittsburgh and UVA to the list.

Northwestern and Stanford also do the same.

Johns Hopkins and Penn definitely do NOT consider you for the MD program if you're not accepted to the MSTP.
