Hey,
Medicine is a relatively safe field, but i have heard of doctors getting fired, laid off. How can a doctor increase his or her value in a hospital to avoid being kicked out?

I'm sure most of those doctors have found a job somewhere else.

If you are a doctor, try to get into a high-demand specialty and avoid screwing up and costing whoever you work for lots of money in legal fees. Also, take patience and grow old. No one fires old doctors.

An alternative approach is to pick a medical specialty you like and enjoy doing regardless of its ''current" demand, popularity or salary. All of those can change quickly. Then, treat your patients, their families and your colleagues well while conducting yourself professionally at all times and providing excellent medical care.

Such physicians will always be in demand in any "specialty".
