Is a MD/MBA truly marketable in the business/industry sector outside of hospital administration? Do you really need to complete a residency and practice a few years to make yourself marketable?

I don't really see why an MD/MBA would be all that useful to someone OUTSIDE of hospital administration, unless it's one of these pharmaceutical giants. In that case, I think having a more extensive business background would be a lot more marketable than completing a residency.
