I'm a medical student hoping to match into orthopedic surgery. My school offers a combined, five year MD/MHA that I am considering. Will taking an extra year to complete the MHA diminish my chances of matching ortho other things being equal (avg. step 1, research, etc.)? I'm concerned that programs won't want to waste time training a surgeon if they believe he/she is more interested in administration.
Thanks for any advice!
