Have any of you guys heard of someone successfully doing the MD/PhD thing after pursuing an alternate first career and first degree in a completely non-science field?
Been struggling with this decision as well. In the beginning it doesn't seem so bad but when I look ahead towards the 7th or 8th year of the program, trying to live with a family of five off a 24 thousand or less per year seems kind of impossible.
