Hello
I am looking for any MD schools that accept graduates from a DO school, for advanced placement (i.e. enter into 3rd year).

I need to move to another location, that does not historically accept DOs into their residency programs. This is for personal reasons (death in my immediate family, relocation). I will put in the extra 2 years of schooling to be able to obtain an MD and enter that program. I am not interested in Caribbean.

Please provide names of MD schools that allow this.

Thank you.

As far as I know, none. Are you already a graduated DO? I'm assuming you're moving to an area like Boston, NYC, SF, LA, or some major city that makes it harder to get a residency as a DO? What field are you planning to do your residency in?

A program that historically do not accept DOs aren't likely to accept anyone with a DO degree even if you are somehow able to get a MD degree.

Not to mention what you are doing isn't possible with a USMD school.

Residencies at even the toughest market has accepted DOs. Apprarently MGH took DO residents for gas and I know Stanford has DO residents.

Can you provide more information?

I know of no schools that do this. I doubt they would advertise it even if they did! Relatively few consider advanced standing (or transfers) at all.
I recommend that you contact the schools in the area in which you are interested to put your mind at rest.
The LCME has recently required written policies on exactly who is considered for advanced placement. I'd be surprised if graduates from another degree program would pass muster.
If you find one, please let us know. PM is fine.
