MD vs DO Guide

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I could tell you, but then I'll have to reject you.

Focus! That's why I started the reply with my n=1 and sin of solipsism comments.
I guess I'll start the flak: you meant to say "These guys in these specific examples practice what they preach."

I'll tell you one more thing: this is the last time I'm stepping into this pile!

LOL

But I think the feeling is that certain philosophical emphasis of NOT EVER forgetting the whole person is distributed throughout MEDICAL schools and programs.

Fixed that for you. But that doesn't fit with the narrative...

I spend a lot of time and energy caring for my patients, and I take pride in what I do. The implication that the letters after my name make me worse at that, for the sake of making people with different letters feel better about themselves, is insulting. But I'm over it. Keep perpetuating this stupid meaningless platitude, keep patting yourselves on the back, and I'll see you all when we're all working TOGETHER to care for WHOLE PATIENTS.

I'm not saying DO Doctors do that.

Is it possible there is a different emphasis during teaching?

I glanced through it and immediately projectile vomited at the sight of DOs being more "holistic." Why does this crap still get spread?

The funny thing is, you can't really tell the difference between the two in a practice setting. Unless of course you look at their work badge. 😛

Kind of cool. I didn't realize the DO degree was this old. Apparently, as the founder of osteopathic medicine, AT Still held both degrees - I wonder if that's happened since then?

In 1961 DOs could become MDs for $65. It didn't last long.

This is the first time paying attention in our "History of Osteopathic Medicine" lecture has turned out to be useful.

my advice,
I got no answers here besides those telling me not to troll. I searched and this is a valuable answer. If you disagree tell me why, I don't care which is "better" i searched for the philosophy difference.

Also my infancy doesnt immediately make my input invaluable.

Also this is what I found. Not my opinion
My advice: stay out of preallo. These are the future MDs of america.

My advice: stay out of preallo. These are the future MDs of america.

For discussion based on hopefully being a future MD, I do believe it's important, and allowed, for me to stay.

nope not allowed get out

But... I don't want to. It looks scary, just look at the door!
