I'm a little confused as to whether the WashU MD and MSTp committees talk to each other regarding interview invitations.

My MD app was complete a long time ago , but due to a late LOR I wanted to add to my MSTP app, this was only recently completed. So i got an interview from the md program, and l'll probably call within the next week to see the status on MSTP before scheduling.

Just checking around to see if anyone else has been through this....I mean, it's probably premature to ask this, but how will we know if we've been moved to the "md-only" pile? (if there really is one)

They did this last year too. They told us on contact that if we were MSTP applicants that we should wait until we hear from the MSTP, and if we don't get an interview that way, call them back for an MD interview. Just let them know, I'm sure it's the same case for you. The two committees are completely separate there for admissions I believe.

I'm in the same boat. I just got my MD interview stuff, but am interested primarily in the MST program. I was planning on doing the same thing -- waiting a little while and contacting the program.

I am curious if they share the information in the file. WashU sent me an e-mail to send them a copy of my AMCAS. I thought that the medical school would simply download it from AMCAS and then give it to the MSTP.
Do you know if they share the information, like letters of recommendation, essays etc.

More so than what I've gathered about other schools, there is not too much communication between the MSTP and the MD admissions office. The MSTP says that it takes awhile for the MD adcom to forward them the AMCAS, thus the 'forward them your AMCAS' message. As far as letters go, the MSTP has to receive all letters of recommendation themselves. The MD people do not forward them, so make sure you get them it.
