I was wondering what some of your experiences with MDApps has been. At the end of application cycle, I planned to make a complete profile, and write comments about each school to help others evaluate the schools. However, right now, even with an incomplete profile, I have gotten some negative comments. It is disheartening to feel that others are discounting me when I am making an effort to contribute to the overall bank of profiles for people to use. The link to my profile is below. OP, don't take someone else's stupidity to heart. You are a talented young woman, and I think that anka is correct that the person who wrote that comment is jealous of you. Unfortunately, there are a lot more idiots out there where that one came from. My advice to you is to always consider the source of any comment you receive. It's one thing if someone you know and respect makes a critical comment to you. But if the person making the comment is an idiot, you really can't be surprised when they make idiotic comments, right? 😉

P.S. Delete all of the negative comments, don't approve any future ones, and forget about them. 🙂

I agree, your profile seems nice and friendly to people looking for information. I think people sould delete any excessively mean or racial slur comments.

I have left a couple of mean comments up on my profile for educational purposes. These are from people saying my undergrad GPA and/orf research is worthless becasue they are not at big name institutions. I figure people who are like me should know not to get discouraged when something similar is said to them. Be wary of the anonymous poster.

i've been called a "psycho" on two separate occasions...not sure what warrants that, but i suppose it could be worse. i plan on making as complete a profile as I can once I am done for educational purposes too. hopefully it will be more inspiring than the typical mdapplicants profile.

That's weird that you have had so many negative comments--I have only had one and our profiles seem somewhat similar. It could be a function of gender and race, unfortunately. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. Your profile is fine and everybody except a couple of *****s appreciates that you put it up.

What happened to your MD app? I was rooting for you when your signature said you got into cornell and mssm and i can't find your md app.

Wow, nice to be missed. I deleted it this morning until I graduate at which point I will likely recreate a fuller version of it. Being the only MSTP applicant at my school it was becoming a little creepy when people I did not even know knew which profile was mine. You can always follow my app process by the acceptance thread and interview thread.🙂
