Hi,

I plan on going to either UT Austin or Texas A&M. I want to be either a ME or a ER Physician or General Practician Physician. I like cars, so ME is a good choice for me, but I also like Medicine/Science. I took a clinical rotations class in HS where I shadowed various doctors, and I really enjoyed it. But I am not sure which I want to do. Is it possible for me to do my undergrad. in ME then take the mcat and go to med. school?

Thanks

You can major in whatever you want during undergrad so long as you take the necessary prereqs for medical school. The reason why many shy away from engineering is because of the effect it has on your GPA, which should always be kept as high as possible. But many people do finish an engineering degree and are able to make it into medical school.
