Is mechanical engineering counted as SGPA?

No. sGPA is bio, chem, physics and math. Period. Engineering is engineering. It is not AMCAS science.

If the content of your mech eng classes are mostly physics and/or math, it could be classified as sGPA, since classes are only classified based on content.
