Hello, not sure if this subject has been touched on before or not, but I was wondering if taking a pre med rout as a mechanical engineer is a good idea. Biomedical Engineering doesnt seem like a good degree if you dont get into medical school. I know major doesnt matter when getting into med school but it does if you don't get in. So is MechE a good major as a pre med?

If you do well, you will be better at the physical sciences section of the MCAT but will have difficulty in bio.... Major in whatever you want, work hard, and make sure you do well in your pre reqs.

Why would he have difficulty in the bio section? If he studies the right sources for biology and takes the right classes he'll be fine.

Took a bioengineering class this semester with bio and engineering majors. Engineers had so many issues with bio and bio majors had major issues with the eng part.... Bio classes are mostly memorization which is a problem for those more engineering inclined.

Yeah, what does your waitlist letter say? I, too, was wondering if USC has a "high priority" waitlist, but if their list is unranked, it wouldn't make sense.

That sounds right, but in the end it is up to the applicant and what he makes of the biology.
