What is the exact mechanism of action of clindamycin ?
Does it work like chloramphenicol or macrolide ?

Clindamycin and macrolides both inhibit the translocation step (same).

Chloramphenicol inhibits peptide bond formation.

No it's not. It fixes it on page 208, but page 78 and 210 both lack corrections in the most up to date errata.

I personally believe it inhibits the peptidyl transferase step like chloramphenicol. I'm convinced no one on the planet knows for sure. In Pharmcards I trust.

I have not once seen someone use dalfopristine/quinupristine in the hospital.

They do use daptomycin with some regularity.

I'm not sure why that drug is completely absent from any STEP 1 review material. It also has a novel mechanism of action. Would make a good test question.
