Could someone give me some advice here?

I've been offered an interview with monash malaysia...1st yr of the course will b in melbourne...subsequent yrs in Malaysia. I'm pretty sure i'll get an offer...but i dun know whether to accept it or not, coz i DO NOT want to do clinicals in malaysia (I can't speak malay to save my life and the clinical hospital looks crap). I plan to transfer after the 1st year. How possible is that? thanks!

No it isn't possible...even in other reverse twinning colleges, they don't allow you to stay back. To get a confirmation you should contact themed school itself..If you want to continue in Oz, why don't you just apply to Monash Australia?

can transfer to other unis (ie. uwa, adelaide...UK/Ireland)? I applied to monash melb...but they filled their international quota even b4 i sat my exams!

from what i've gathered its very unlikely if not impossible to transfer to another uni.

you must remember that as a full fee paying student if u transfer to another school it means loss of income to the uni.
i believe the only way to do this is a student swap but i would like to stress this is all anecdoctal.. i have no concrete knowledge of this process.

and re you applying AFTER exams... thats too late really.. most people apply with their forecasts and get conditional offers.

Read in the Straits Times today abt there being too many private medical colleges and hence medical students in Malaysia. The article also quoted some sources as saying that the graduates of these schools have poor clinical skills since the hospitals are too stretched to afford them proper clinical training. Shortage of lecturers and teaching staff at these medical schools were also highlighted. Can anyone verify the truth in the article? Is this a case of media sensationalism or if it's really happening, to what extent is it true?

On a side note, the article also said there are 17 medical schools in Malaysia, 8 government and 9 private. Can someone list all the 9 private medical schools?
