Hey guys,

I thought some of you would be interested in watching this documentary, "Doctors' Diaries" that follows 7 med students from their 1st to 4th yr and then from interns until they become residents.

It's a bit outdated when they start med school but I just finished watching it and found it really interesting. Kudos to MudPhudHopeful for bringing this vid to my attention.

Anyone know how to watch this in Canada (taking vacation here)?

i don't know if you actually can... i feel like i tried to watch this when i was overseas and it wouldn't let me because i wasn't in america 🙁
but this is a good documentary... i've seen it off and on whenever it comes on my PBS station at home.

this is really amazing. thanks for posting.

From my understanding, this program was a yearly series that aired for the last time earlier in this year. I'm not so sure how much you can glimmer about the life in the medical field from watching edited portions of their lives...if you watch the individual commentaries, you notice that most of them have experienced a lot of adversity in their personal lives and it's dangerous to perceive this as the norm or a normal sample of physicians. Still though, its a very compelling piece to see how these people change through their career. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting old but watching stuff like this makes me realize that I'm still very much a kid.

PS: Isn't it a shame how the pediatrician comes out? At first I was like: "wow, she's really cute" and then you snap to a present day dialog and then you're like: "wow...what the hell happened to her? someone became too busy for the gym..."

That was a really cool documentary, amazing to see. That girl seeing her patient die on the operating table really hit home.

Looks interesting...will watch it on another night!

It definitely is a bit outdated, but you can view it on the NOVA website
here:

Tried to click on the link but couldn't watch it when it said I couldn't watch it even though I am in the U.S. and it also said that some people in the U.S. have trouble viewing it.🙁 If you type it in on Youtube, it does come up under the channel NovaOnline😉
