We do paper/pencil for the first year, then in the computer labs for the second year

All exams are on computer except for anatomy lab practical exams which are obviously done on paper.

all exams are on computer and multiple choice

supposed to prepare us for USMLE, but in reality it just makes all the tests easier and will probably result in less studying and lower USMLE scores haha

some schools give you a tablet (ipad/android) when u get in, and it is used for all exams

how does using computers make the tests easier? 😕

I think computer exams are harder. Our MCQs can go from A to J. 🙁 Paper/Pencil MCQs go only to E.

The nice thing about computer exams is that you get your grade/score immediately after the exam. That's pretty sweet.

All computer except for anatomy practicals. I need to bring ear plugs next time all that clicking drives me nuts.

All of our exams our free response. The "multiple choice" is a "circle all that apply" format, so each question is really 5 T/F questions.

That sucks, but at least you'll be well prepared for Step 1 and don't have to worry about super high class test averages.
