I just finished my fourth quarter (my school goes by trimesyers) and i appear to have got Bs in all my chemsitry, phsycs, math, and one genetics classes.. is getting into med school still realistic?

Well from your informative post I can see you have a 3.82 cGPA and a 3.79 sGPA, which is nice. I can also see that you got a 517 on your MCAT, which is very solid. Those 600 ED volunteering hours are also a plus. Oh, second author on a paper published by your lab? Nicely done. What's this? You also participated on your school's D2 swimming team and helped get them to nationals where you lost? Still a very impressive achievement. You like to volunteer at the local animal shelter as well, so that shows you aren't just about school and work 24/7.

I'd say you can apply to all the top 10s and expect at least 4 interviews.

yes, B's dont keep you out of med school. good luck!

If you got nothing but Bs for your entire transcript, you're in trouble. A 3.0 GPA is too low for med school in most circumstances.

Im in sophmore year, gpa is about 3.42, sgpa is about 3.3. I volunteer and various other club activities

Bring that GPA up. What sort of volunteering? How many hours a week? Don't make us ask every single question.

I volunteer at a hospital nearby about 2-4 hrs per week depending on schedules for example this quarter I think I'm going to volunteer 3 hrs per week. Im also trying to become a tutor in the community, but nothing with numbers i can say yet for that

I also volunteered at a lab last summer and now trying work in a lab with one of my professors.

Your ECs seem fine. Like others have said, don't make a habit out of getting B's (a small couple here and there won't be an issue, but many are bad); if you find you're struggling to keep up in class, maybe somethings need to change. Maintaining a good GPA is more important than logging obscene amounts of volunteering hours. But as it stands, as long as your can keep your GPA up and ace (or get no less than B+'s) in your remaining classes, and score well on the MCAT, you should be a solid candidate.
