I got a recruiting mailer from Washington University in St. Louis. It was nice for my ego, even though I wouldn't likely get in with my GPA. Showed that my MCAT work was not in vain.

Anybody else getting cool mail yet?

I got Medical College of Wisconsin last year, I applied but didnt get an interview. I figure its probably a money making thing with some schools. They really like the extra 100 bucks.

Really? I haven't gotten any military mailings, although I'd love to! Maybe the do a database cross reference like Wash U needs to.

Hey, me too; along with my Washington U invite they were my first official med school mail. I'm not applying to either, but it was fun to get the envelopes.

I got one the other day. I thought it was my first secondary. I was so disappointed I threw it to the floor and stamped on it repeatedly. It was my most dramatic performance all...week 😀

It's funny, I've gotten a bunch more of these, from podiatric to todays "Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University". Goodness, if I can't say the school name in one breath, I don't think I wanna go there!

The funniest was also today. I got recruited by the US Navy. The Air Force has yet to recruit me, even though I'm an Air Force officer. Those bastards already know they have me, I guess 😳

I was Navy for 8 years, talked the the HPSP people last summer, and STILL haven't got anything from the Navy, even though they kept calling me non-stop last year asking me to apply (I had to keep telling them I'm a year out).

Think the recruiters might not be 'all there'?

yeah that CWRU/Cleveland Clinic program is something else huh? I don't think anyone would stick around for the answer to the question, "where do you go to school?" since it would take me 5 minutes to say all those names.

But the research/MD combo is kinda neat. Like a watered-down MD/PhD?

yeah the cleveland clinic program sounds really interesting. didnt even know about till i got their secondary yesterday. i really like research...so im going to apply to it...does anyone know if the program is more difficult to get into than the MD and if you dont get into that program ...can you still be accepted for regular MD?
