Med School

How is this school? I want to go here then practice medicine in California.

UQ is one of the traditional Australian research unis, and Ochsner is its new partner in the US as an established clinical training centre (formerly for LSU and Tulane med students). It is the first time an established foreign med school has set up a clinical school in the US, and has thus been controversial (cf. the Carib schools), but nayed chiefly by peeps who know nothing of the school (cf. Cornell in Qatar threads circa 2003-4).

Look for threads with "UQ" or "Ochsner" in their title for more. Hopefully some of the current cohort doing their clinicals in N.O. will chime in..

If you want to practice in California, you need to go to the State licensing website and look at their specific requirements of med school education that are a prerequisite for that state. If I remember correctly (and I looked at CA licensure, but am not licensed there), there are a few things like a family medicine rotation, etc that is somewhat unique for that state. I would just ensure that whatever medical school you choose incorporates these state mandated rotations.
