I am trying to review the school's info. for the interview coming up but unfortunately, I cant find anything useful info. about the school on its website.

Could you answer some questions?

The school's curriculum in the pre-clinical and clinical years. Are there any innovations, like Problem-Based Learning?

Does it have early clinical exposure? If not what year?

How competitive are the students? Since it has a letter grading system. Is there a notetaking service?

What activities are there on campus? I've been to the CMS a couple of times and there aren't that much to do out there: I work at Abbotts Laboratories (North Chicago Location).

Could you list your favorite and least favorite things about CMS?

Thanks,

Joe

Schools curriculum is pretty basic. 1st yr you take Genetics, MCB, Physiology, Anatomy, Histo, and start Clinical Medicine, biochem, neuroscience and some other classes.
2nd yr you continue Clinical Medicine and do Path, Pharm, Micro, Immuno, Behavioral Science type class (neurosomething I dont even remember).

Clinical exposure starts 2nd yr but you can do it 1st yr through various programs.

Some students are VERY competetive but generally the students that do well are pretty chill but there are gunners everywhere. People all work pretty hard. As far as notetaking for most classes they give you the notes, some of the notes are awesome and some are awful. Also there is a big Perk in that the 2 guys who wrote the Path BRS are our Path Profs and they are awesome.

Lots of clubs on campus etc. and people are pretty social if you are, if you arent social you might find it a little tougher but you will always find someone similar to you. There are 180 or so students.

Favorite and least fav? There are many... Well i really like the people but I think the worst part is that you arent near the city the 1st 2 yrs and it can be miserable for a short period of time, but u might be too busy to enjoy the city anyhow.

Ectopic.

No basically the school was renamed to gain some popularity. Also we got a new president and i think he wanted a fresh start. Her family though was apparently very happy with the renaming and they were there for the ceremony.
