Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for MDs, but I guess there is just something about writing perscriptions just to shut people up, fighting hmos, taking malpractice up the rear, and missing your children grow up while you do 4 years of med school and 4 years of residency that is not fulfilling to me. If they find that fulfilling then more power to them. I'll be on ski slopes with my future wife and future kids not giving a crap about what they think while they haven't slept for 24 hours and get to miss their 2 year olds birthday party to do a rectal exam. MD's have it rough, no doubt about it. So if they want to be cocky or whatever, then who cares, a lot of us would be like that too if we had to deal with the crap they do. We all have our reasons for choosing our profession, and what is most important is that our decision is fulfilling to ourself.
Also it is important we maintain a professional relationship with MDs regardless of what we all really think as we are all a part of the health care team. Our patients should be what is most important, so we all need to get along for their best interest.
