If someone reapplies for the third time and made some little changes and additions here and there in the personal statement from the first time to the second. second time, only applied to 5 schools but the third time (this time) will apply to a lot more, is it really worth it to change the personal statement around completely??? even if it was quite well written? do admissions committees really compare your application to the past application? Would it be considered lazy to not change it, even if the reason is that you're completely satisfied with the previous one?

how about letters of rec?

any of you guys on the admissions committees and can give some insight into how re-applicant applications are looked at and if they're always compared.

1st app: 2002; 2nd app: 2004; 3rd app: this year

THANK YOU

If you've been rejected twice before, chances are it's not your personal statement.

i would recommend incorporating what you've done since writing the initial personal statement into it (from the past couple of years, perhaps?).

i would also make sure that there is enough of a difference between your past applications and your current app so that it gets noticed.

as for letter or rec, perhaps some new ones from people who know you personally and with whom you have a stronger relationship with would be important to add.

good luck!

We're going to need some stats before anyone can answer the question. GPA, MCAT scores, bra size etc.

I agree with the dude's post 2 floors above me. 2 years worth of rejection probably has little to do with your personal statement. Some other aspect of your application isn't making you competitive.
