NOTE : This is intended for current med students only.

To current med students, what were your ECs before entering medecine?
How much volunteer work did you do?
What about research?
Did you have a part-time job on top of it? (does this count as an EC btw?)

I'm interested to see what worked for people in the past, and also to "compare" my current ECs (which i think is too little).

Thanks,
-WT-

'Paid work experience' is listed separately from 'Extracurricular activities' on the AMCAS application.

1. Undergrad Research Assistant (2 years)
2. Worked at hospital as a PCT (1 year)
3. Volunteered at hospital (1 week, ok ok so I didnt put this down on my applications... the hospital was soo far away 🙄 ).

You probably wont believe this, but none of the interviewers asked me about my research work but ALL of them asked me about my work experience! I was surprised to say the least.
