Medbros: Only KAPLAN+AAMC?

If you don't know medbros, he's a youtuber/yale med student that got a 524 on the MCAT. His study strategy was to read through Kaplan, and then prep by only doing AAMC material (by mixing and matching official question sets, he created 5 customized full lengths exams, in addition to the two official ones).

Has anyone else done something similar? I'm more than a year from taking the MCAT myself, and had been looking at strategies for a while. His way is efficient and also saves a lot of money, so atm I'm tempted to follow his plan. But I just wanted to check on here because it doesn't seem like most people do this.

I don't see a problem with the strategy as you've described it. Buying multiple sets of test prep books is excessive.
