highly recommend for all taking step 1 to buy kaplan medessentials and for you to accompany it with your first aid. it is a great book, and basically has all the high yield facts of kaplan lecture notes in one book.

Reading together kaplan medessentials and first aid, not only helps with understanding the material better, but also with retention.

Absolutely agree!
In one of the forum threads I was recommended to throw medessentials away, don't know why.
Although I have both FA and ME, medessentials is my main source. There are just couple topics that I read only in FA.
Otherwise, Kaplan ME is a great book, indeed
