Did any of you take, or know anyone who took, the MCAT after having some kind of medical training/experience including detailed A & P and path? What was your experience like? Did the extra knowledge distract you from the basic sciences? Did it help put things in perspective? Not that it makes any damn difference at this point, but I'm curious....thanks!

I was about a month into my EMT-B course when I took the MCAT and it didn't hurt but didn't seem to help that much either.

No offense cornhusker, I was an EMT for four years, but EMT-B training doesn't even attempt to teach anything more than common sense how you should react in certain situations. I'm talking about things like more in-depth physiology and pathology that come from careers like nursing and allied health professions. thanks though!

Once you start thinking of upper level Bio courses as an aid to the MCAT, you have already lost your way. Also, I don't understand why people continually talk about upper level bio courses when there are 2 other important sections on the MCAT. People act as though the physical science and verbal sections don't count.

chill Gbemi...I'm not asking for opinions, I'm asking for experiences...nobody's talking about any section of the exam in particular, nor whether or not to take "upper level bio"
