how do you guys define the term “medical director” as it relates to anesthesia services? Can all physicians of a practice be defined as medical directors or is it a title bestowed to a single member?

this is one doc in charge of either a surgical center, a subdivision of the hospital, whatever, they make the ultimate decision about clearances and medical issues related to running the center independent from surgical issues..

this is usually one person representing the group who attends facility meetings and updates the group on changes/problems with the area that they control

its the person the center/hospital goes to for any anesthesia related issues
