I have no direct knowledge, but have heard to avoid as both seller and buyer.
There was a time when there were essentially no organizational jobs and it was even harder to get an associate job (pre/very early internet). It also used to be more difficult to get on insurance plans. So in the past there was some benefit to taking over an established practice, even if it was an overpriced chiropody office. Even with our poor job market there are usually better options these days.
