Hi
I live in California (specifically the los angeles area) and was wondering if any of you knew any private companies that help pre-med students with their medical school applications? Such as editing essays and helping you prepare for interviews?
Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Lion!

Wow this is interesting. I'm not sure if such companies exist, but I do know that there are companies that do things such as editing personal statements and curriculum vitae for job applications.

Perhaps your undergraduate institution will have some sort of student and faculty programs available for students pursing graduate education. Maybe they could help you out.

Does your school have a pre-medical advisor? I would definantly turn to him/her for help as they are most familiar with the medical school application process.

Best of wishes

I know that Kaplan offers this service, but it is ridiculously expensive. I can't remember the actual price, but I remember thinking "yeah right"! My current undergrad institution offers some great resources for the application cycle. They will even conduct mock interviews. This is through the career center on campus, and is all covered by student fees. I would first check to see if these services are offered at your institution. FREE is always a nice thing.
