Ignorant hypothetical question: Is it possible for one's interviews or previous application for medical school to affect the residency application at an associated school? Say you were to be disrespectful to a secretary and had it noted in your file. Is there crosstalk between residencies and medical school applications at all?

Doubtful. However, don't be rude to people and you won't have anything to worry about! It doesn't cost anything to be nice - and even when it's a tough situation to remain friendly, the only thing it costs is a little patience 🙂

Of course I wouldn't knowingly do that, mainly worried about bad interview skills transferring into red flags later on.

I scored a 200% in my medical school interview, so I don't have to interview for residency at all. 👍

Kidding. What about pre-med school research/awards/etc? Does anyone care anymore? Pretty sure the answer is no, but I thought I'd actually contribute to a thread for once.

Research as in pubs never goes away. Those should always be on your CV.

Minor stuff like working in a lab for a semester in undergrad? I'd probably ditch it.

Awards - basically unless its a Fulbright or a Heisman residencies won't care.

How about "key to the city" for do-goodery in your city? lol
