Has any of you guys considered any of these medical schools in Mexico? Specifically in the State of Jalisco, city of Guadalajara?

Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara and Universidad de Guadalajara both have fully affiliated International Medical Programs. They both seem very good programs, even better than the programs at the Caribbean in terms of location and quality of life. Education seems cheaper, too. They follow same curriculum as most US Med schools, taking board exams just like any other US School. Also, these programs are taught in English.

What do you guys think of these programs?

They're probably viewed like any other non-LCME accredited foreign institution...not nearly as favorably as a school within the US.

This really belongs on the international forum, not preallo. But the short answer is if your goal is to end up in the US, you are better off applying from a US med school. A distant second choice would be an offshore school with established US hospital ties for rotations. The quality of the education or curriculum is meaningless if it doesn't open doors to residency

I don't mean to be the grammar police, but the first thing a physician must learn is the skill of communication. Have any of you guys . . . but I digress.

I don't mean to be the common sense police, but no one cares if a doctor makes a simple grammar mistake. My farther's friend is a well respected cardiologist at Mayo Clinic and I've seen the emails he has written to my parents.. full of mistakes. He's in a rush and doesn't give a ****, and no one else seems to either.

OP, I would shy away from any non-US medical school if you can. Just my opinion, but it seems like you have to jump through extra hoops to get anywhere in the US if you take medical school outside our borders.
