does anyone know the rankings for University of Illinois Chicago, Rosalind Franklin and SUNY Upstate from the latest US News release of best graduate schools.

You can go to the US News website and find the rankings. You can see the top 1-50 based on either research or primary care. If you want all of the juicy details other than just a rank number you will have to pay those greedy bastards in some form or another (either online or get it in print I guess).

its my personal crusade against these rankings. I think people should take a good long look at the schools they're applying to and make their decisions based on things that matter to them - class size, facilities, the student body, research opportunities, match list etc - rather than some arbitrary ranking system which doesnt even offer a complete listing of medicals schools in the US.

AMEN! I wish more people could think this practically, but for some reason everybody seems to insist on letting prestige make their decisions for them. It's a personal pet peeve of mine-- how much emphasis people put on those darned rankings.

we had a handful of students get in to derm last year, many into optho and orthpedic surgery, a few into plastic surgery and neurosurg..... and we're not in the 'top 50' rankings are complete BULL&*(^

GO RFUMS-CMS!!!!!!!!!

Akaz which medical school do you go to? And do you feel the prestige of it has helped or hindered you in any way shape or form? What speciality do you want to go into, derm? Besides how much do dermatolgists even do these days, do they cure skin cancer a la seinfeld?

Yeah, derm! I mean, that's what every little boy and girl dreams of doing as a kid.... Dermatology. Of course, everyone is interested in the cool applications in derm, and certainly not the money!
