Hi All,
I'm researching possible job opportunities after pharmacy school. Does any know if medication safety officers have a role in patient interactions/counseling or is it just more an administrative role with research?

Depends on for whom you are a med safety officer.

You can work in med safety in hospitals, corporate offices of community pharmacy chains, FDA, managed care, and pharmaceutical companies.

In most of these roles, you have an investigator-type aspect to your career which has an element of patient interaction, but its largely through traditional or electronic mail, phone calls and faxes. Very infrequently would you ever be face to face with patients.
