I'm thinking about taking a part-time medication tech position. Basically walking around dispensing medication at an assisted living center. I enjoy working with the elderly, but do you think this will qualify as "direct patient care?" I would assume so...

I sure hope it does. I would do it. I work in an impatient psych facility and do this as part of my job. It's helped me learn different meds and how they work

PA programs are all about "direct patient care" and the majority of them define it as literally having your hands on the patient.

Pharm tech type jobs usually don't count as clinical experience.
