Medium length hair, how should I wear it to my interviews?

I read in a few threads that if you don't have short hair, you should wear it back. I never wear my hair back. What have the girls at your interviews been doing? Is it weird to wear it strait and down? I never thought twice about it until now. Thank you in advance!

At my interviews, I would say majority did hair down and straightened...mine was in a nice updo, but I didn't feel out of place. From the things I'd heard on SDN, I thought I would be some awful outcast by not wearing certain color pantyhose or not wearing close-toe shoes or not wearing the right kind of suit, etc etc...but when you get there, everyone always looks professional and put-together, so truthfully, you don't worry about specifics too much.

very cool thank you! Does everyone wear a suit? I already bought a great suit and I'm going to wear it. I'm just curious if a good amount of ladies skip the suit all together.

For everyone: What is your plan for shoes at Pittsburgh? I got that message saying to stay away from heals lol. Now I don't know what to wear?

Pretty much everyone wore suits...at my Nova interview, one girl wore this really pretty colorful dress, which you wouldn't think would work, but she looked nice and stood out (in a good way, I think) from all us gray and black suit people. 🙄

as long as you dont look haggard or too... sexy, you are good to go.

As for shoes, BELIEVE ME... do flats. it is NOT worth the trouble. I was a heel-person too. I wore it to one interview. Hell, no one looks. On the contrary, people who wear heels stand out because they start to tire and shift their weight back and forth between the two legs...

When I interviewed at NYU, Dr Mejia actually looked at me and my shoes and actually said, Good idea on wearing flats!

If you dont believe, carry both... and you will be happy you have a backup 🙂

I thought I'd see more girls with hair up, but usually I see hair down or hair half up/half down. You really do see a mixture of everything.

I have pretty long hair, so I wore it up for my first two interviews because I thought it looked more professional, but I never usually tie my hair up (unless I'm in lab. But even then, I hate it up). The third interview, I left it down, and I felt more like... me. As silly as that sounds, I think I gave a better interview because I felt more at ease.
