Hey guys I am new to this, I was wondering if you can be invited if your GPA meets the requirement but your MCAT doesn't (my latest score doesn't meet the requirement but the one before that does). I submitted my secondary but I haven't heard anything back yet. Do they do silent R's?

The deadline for submitting MEDPATH application was Jan 31st (separated from the tOSU's secondary). So you have to submit primary and then submit secondary and then they reject you from MD then invite you to MEDPATH, which is another like 10 essays. I think most people here got invited back in November. You have to meet both requirements (unless you email nikki and ask for if you can get exempted i think).

Thank you for your reply!! I guess I wasn't selected then. Good luck to everyone!

Did anyone hear anything yet? I think our VITALS is supposed to update. Most likely today or Monday. I can't wait another 2 days o_O
Nothing here either. I do know that yesterday they were still figuring things for their regular admissions, maybe once they are done they’ll get to us. This is tough lol

I just called and she said applications are going under final review so we’ll probably be hearing back after the weekend. So I think you’re right about Monday.

Y’all - I hate to say this, but what if it doesn’t happen m0nD@yYyY?!?

I just called too. Nikki said until the review are done. She didn't give me a date. Oof.
Yeah. I was like "when will the interview notifications be sent out". She said, "We will send them out once the reviews are done". I guess they are behind this year due to the pandemic
Interesting...from past threads it seems they only invite about 100 people and of course not everyone applies so I wondering what's taking so long.

Okay. So for the regular MD admission, they are still sending out invites to people from what I can tell. Some people are booked for the end of March interview. I guess they still didn't get to us quite yet. G G

Hmm that's so strange b/c when I called Friday or whatever day that was Nikki was saying the were literally doing the final review and should be done by the weekend.

Got my interview invite today!

Where do you see it in VITALS?
As soon as you log into VITALS, you should see it.

Anyone know if all of the invites have already gone out?

Uncertain, but it's very likely that some people will turn them down and/or miss the deadline and/or receive acceptances.

One could assume that they would tell you if you didn't receive an interview, right? Doesn't seem likely they would just keep you in the dark. Looking back to the previous year I saw there was a four day span between some getting interview invites. Curious to know, what does your "last updated" say down at the bottom of your vitals page? Wondering if there's any correlation between that last update and invites received. I haven't received anything yet, and my last update was Feb 24th.

Mine still says update 2/24. So I don’t think there is a correlation.

Couple questions:
1. How many invites are sent? How many are selected?
2. I heard that there is a scholarship that covers the cost tuition and fees and the students take out loans for living expenses is it true?
3. Will the program be online due to Covid 19 or will be required to move to Ohio assuming we don’t live there?
4. Any idea when orientation is from previous years?
5. Any information to through out there about the program? Does the majority of the cohort matriculate to medical school?

Hey! I’ve actually answered some of these questions on page 1 of this thread I believe.
There is also a blog written by a previous Medpath student who has a lot of great insight into the program.

but short
1) they send out about 30 invites per their website and the brochure about the program; about 15 are selected from those who interview. It is a very small cohort and very focused on success.
2) there are some scholarships available as well as some tuition vouchers, but they are limited and not guaranteed. Loans are often required to be taken out along with financial aid options.
3) we don’t know if programs are virtual or not; however with vaccines etc, it will likely be on campus, but I’m not in an administrative role, just conjecture. I’m going to assume that yes you will need to move to Ohio. It would seem unwise not to.
4) orientation is first week of august and program begins very soon thereafter
5) their website is very succinct in the information about the program, but like I mentioned, if you google “Medpath blog,” there is a lot of helpful information from the author. I suspect there will also be option to ask some of these questions on interview.

hope this helps answer/direct you to information to further help answer your questions!

I just got the R! When I applied I hadn't been accepted anywhere yet, so I wouldn't have accepted the II but an R always stings a bit! They shared that they would offer advice in mid-April (a little interested to hear what they'll say as I got interviews at high-stat schools where I had no business being there haha). Just goes to show how this process is such a crapshoot and to stay humble. Congratulations to yall who were invited and go kill your interviews :)
