Anyone see the new medscape comp survey?

Yes. It includes academic data and other type jobs which reduces the median compared to MGMA. Overall, if academic and mommy track jibs are included in the data the numbers are pretty close.

MGMA is a much better source for private practice income.

Cool, thanks. I saw it today and was curious about everyone's opinions, ie, how the numbers and other information stack up to everyone's experience.

I would like to see a salary survey that breaks it down to compensation per hour. How many of those big money job guys are routinely working 70+ hrs/wk with little vacation? Same for the other end of the curve.

Correct. That's what you need to understand. Some of these jobs are 35 hours a week with 14 weeks of vacation while others are 65 hours a week with 2 weeks off.

Let me tell ya - mommy track jobs with less compensation are AWESOME. There is so much more to life then making $$$. It wasn't until I was pushed into part time that I realized just how true this is. To all their own 😉

Planning to downshift to that in a few years.

I am SO looking forward to that lifestyle in about 5-7 years.
