Meet our GRE Instructors
Please note: The following list presents a small cross-section of our 100+ available GRE tutors. We add new tutors frequently. Your assigned tutor may not be listed here, and tutors listed may be booked or unavailable in your area. Our Academic Managers (each with over 8 years of experience in test prep) work with you to match you or your child to the best possible instructor for their needs and timeline.

Our most experienced instructors are always available to work with you through our online GRE tutoring interface.

Will graduated with honors from Occidental College in 2012, where he majored in English and minored in math. He has taught students of all ages in four subjects, three countries and two languages. He scored a perfect 340 on the exam.

Matt holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Chicago and is a PhD candidate in mechanical engineering at Northwestern University. He is a bit of a renaissance man, having completed coursework in subjects from multi-variable Calculus to philosophy to Greek. He has recorded perfect scores on the GRE quantitative section (twice). He was also a contestant onJeopardy! in 2003. He tutors in Chicago and online.

Mike M. is a graduate of Brown University and holds an MBA from the University of Colorado. He has 7 years of GRE prep experience and has worked with over 250 students on the GRE. He scored a perfect 170 on the math section and 169 on the verbal section of the Revised GRE.

Rebecca teaches the GMAT, GRE, and LSAT in Chicago. She is earning a JD/MBA dual degree. Rebbecca has years of experience teaching and tutoring, having taught college-level students for years at the University of Illinois of Chicago, where she holds a masters degree. Rebecca’s outstanding scores on both the LSAT and GMAT, combined with her real-world experience and success in the admissions process, make her an ideal partner for studying either exam (or both simultaneously).

Michael is a graduate of the University of Chicago. He has over 5 years of tutoring experience and has scored in the 99th percentile of both the GRE and the LSAT. His students routinely give him high praise for his ability to explain challenging concepts in a variety of ways, ensuring student comprehension and raising scores.

Michael D. has tutored for over 9 years, helping students raise their scores on a variety of entrance exams. He holds a masters degree from Northwestern University. He has helped students on the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT.

Elena scored in the 99th percentile of the LSAT as well as the 99th percentile on the GRE, with perfect scores on the quantitative section. She tutored for several years at the largest national test preparation companies before coming to work for Next Step. She holds a J.D. from Northwestern University and tutors in Houston.

Peter scored a 179 on the LSAT (99.9%) as well as 790 (99%) on the GMAT. He has over 10 years of experience teaching standardized tests. He has taught nearly every major graduate school or college admissions test successfully. His extensive experience equips him with a range of tools to help students of all ages and levels.

Ross has over 10 years and thousands of hours of tutoring experience. He tutors for the GRE (on which he received a perfect score on the quantitative section) and GMAT. He is a faculty member in the math department at Wayne State University, from which he holds a Masters in mathematical statistics.

Dan has over 7 years of teaching and tutoring experience, including three years of training other tutors and writing test preparation curriculum. He earned a perfect score (1600) on the GRE as well as a 1540 on the SAT. He holds a BA from Dartmouth College and is completing a MA at Georgetown University.

Adam has been a tutor for seven years. Before coming to Next Step, he taught courses at the nation’s largest test preparation company. Before beginning his tutoring career, Adam was an investment advisor with assets under management of over $50 million. He has earned a 171 on the LSAT, 780 on the GMAT, and 1480 on the GRE. He holds a BA from the University of Kansas.

Sarah scored in the 99th percentile on the GRE, with a perfect sore on the quantitative section. She has previously tutored independently, as well as for a well known national test prep company. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Rice University and will begin a Master’s program at UT Houston in the fall.

Josh was trained by the nation’s largest test preparation company before joining Next Step. He tutors the LSAT (171), GRE (1420) and SAT (1390). He holds a Bachelors from NYU, an MFA from University of Arizona, and he will be attending law school at the University of Michigan this fall.

Robert taught at a national prep company for years, eventually helping to create material for several tests including MCAT, LSAT, GRE, and SAT. He brings his wealth of teaching experience to each engagement, focusing on teaching students.

William has over 25 years of teaching at the college level as a college professor. During this time he has tutored for the SAT, ACT, GRE, and GMAT, working with hundreds of students. He is a published author and a performing classical musician.

Anthony has over 8 years of individual and classroom teaching experience. He teaches LSAT,GRE, SAT, SAT II, ACT, and chess. Anthony scored a 176 on the LSAT, 790 on the GMAT, a perfect 1600 on the SAT, and three perfect scores on SAT II exams. Anthony holds a JD from Georgetown Law Center.

Bill has 12 years of experience in the test preparation industry. While managing a regional center for a major national prep company, he worked with dozens of students on the GMAT, LSAT, GRE, SAT, and ACT as well as training tutors to teach classes for each of these exams. He scored 730 on the GMAT and 167 on the LSAT.

Andrew has 5 years of tutoring experience. He holds a MA from Georgia State University. He received a perfect score on the GRE math section.
