Meeting your spouse in dental school?

So I am a 25 year old male who will be attending my dream school this fall. For as long as I have wanted to do dentistry, I've also imagined that I will meet my wife in dental school. Now, is this an unreal expectation or does it happen more than people think? Thanks!

And, I don't think it's a rare occurrence to find your spouse in dental school. She might be a dental student, or a hygiene student, or a med student, or a nursing student, or a working professional, or someone you might meet at a friend's kickback! But I'd say there's a pretty good shot of your meeting your spouse in the upcoming 4 years! Just make sure you're on the lookout, but not the stalker-ish kind. ;-)

P.S. I've heard of a lot of couples meeting in dental school (both being students, some even in the same year). It's common enough, but not so common that it's even 50% of the class...if I wanted to guesstimate, I'd prob say 5-15%? But it's all situational

I saw quite a few couples meet in d-school. Some made it and others didn't. Fortunately, no real drama came about when the ones who didn't make it broke up. It is not unrealistic to meet someone there, but just like dating anywhere else you just have to take it naturally.

It could definitely happen. Especially if your school is a state school or has many different health professions attached to it.

Agreed! I hear all the time how dental school gossip is worse than high school gossip haha. Make sure to limit yourself to the number of dental students you "try to make your wife," because it could get very gossipy very quick haha

I know of one school who actually has a rule about not dating within your actual class. They make you sign a waiver and everything, for the exact reasons you said above and problems in the past.

First of all congratz on getting accepted to your dream school! There is a good chance that you might find a spouse in dental school. Just remember that love from one side doesn't work. 😍
