I am wonder what will it like when you go to med school and meet your student host/student interviewer/interview day tour guy again in the school...Will it be kinda weird? 😉

Uh, why should it be? Chances are pretty high that you'll remember him/her, but they won't remember you.

Also remember that they will be M2s at that point, so you won't have any classes together and probably won't see them except maybe passing them in the halls or at the library.

If they remember you at all they will probably be friendly and congratulate you on having been accepted. At least all my hosts would, as they were a fantastic group of individuals

It was actually really nice to know someone on campus. My student ambassador went to dinner w/ my family when I was in town and we got to know each other. At the time he as an OMS II and this year he is a fellow so I run into him in class. It was nice to have an upperclassmen to ask questions to or just someone to say hey to.

Yea, I definitely remember my tour guide, but she didn't remember me. Not a big deal, she's an M2 now, we don't have the same classes. It would probably be different though if I kept in touch after the interview...

I remembered some of the students who gave my tour last year and went to the student/interviewee football game over the weekend and this year we have talked some and it has just been friendly. The MSI/MSII relationships here are pretty good. We are involved in clubs together, the MSII's are paired with us at free clinics, and they give good advice.

Don't be afraid of them- I am giving tours this week for interviewees and it seems like yesterday I was interviewing... we aren't that much different than the pre-meds.
