We are supposed to hear back no later than April 30th, which is next week Friday. I finish my masters program next week, so I was going to send my offical transcript after school ended, straight to the admissions office to update them to what I was doing. I am going to keep praying for all of us. I don't like that they are taking so long , but what can you do...😕 the admissions process is a waiting game and they hold the cards. We can only hope and pray that everything will work out in our favor.

I sent transcripts to update them on my new grades. I sent thank you cards after the interview. I also sent a new letter of recommendation from one of my professors.

Hey guys check ur mailboxes I wasn't home yesterday but my sis told me this morn that fed ex left a notice for a cerified letter..went to the post office today and the letter was from meharry..I'm accepted! I will continue to pray for everyone..I know we all will have a great outcome!

Thanks for the positivity, Nek... but I have been down this road before too many times. Of course, I would be happy to get off the waitlist. I am already getting ready to start studying for the DAT on my own as soon as my finals and will be going to school in the fall hopefully to take more courses 🙂

I think that if you were gonna get accepted you were suppose to get your letter friday because they did express it through FEDEX. Only way you would have missed it is if u live in Alaska or maybe Hawaii but even then FEDEX is pretty reliable. So if you didn't get a sticky thing from FEDEX on your door friday saying "We came by and you weren't here" then its pretty much time to start getting ready for the 2010-2011 application cycle. Sorry to all and congratulations to the selected few.

@Violet I applied for the class. @Jennifer my previous post was in regards to the postbac, this is the postbac thread after all. I'm almost 100% positive because from some of the people I've spoken to who got accepted their letters or post it from fedex came friday. I'm sure they express sent all of them at the same time. If you pay Fedex for express service then that is what they give you regardless of your state with exception to overseas. If anyone gets anything in the mail at this point its going to be in reference to alternate, wait list, or denial. I don't mean to be the barer of bad news but that is the reality of the situation.

I too received my letter today stating that I have been placed on an "alternate" list. Is there a difference between the "alternate" list and being "waitlisted"?

I don't think there is a difference between the alternate list or waitlist. Its the same thing. I got the exact same letter three time already. We can just hope and pray that the waitlist or the alternate list will move. Even if its not me, I hope someone gets off. This whole process is so frustrating and I would like to see someone's dream come true.

Hey I know you have to be an URM to apply. Maybe it is not required, but we all know you have a way better chance if you are a URM .

But what about someone who isn't URM but have a disadvantaged background such as first gen. college student, low income, educationally disadvantaged, etc? Thanks

Hello, I applied to Meharry this past cycle. I wrote an email to Dr. Mosley explaining my situation on my low MCAT score and he said he sent my application for review to the postbacc committee in nov. In late Dec i recieved a rejection letter from Meharry's medical program, so does this mean i will not be considered for the postbacc anymore? how does the postbacc work? is it just waitlisted students accepted?
