Melanoma regression?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My understanding of regression is that it occurs as a result of an autoimmune, anti-tumor effect in which the body's immune system reacts against the melanoma as a foreign entity. Common features include tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in a brisk inflammatory reaction within and around the melanoma, fibrosis and scarring of the dermis, ectatic blood vessels of the papillary dermis, and atrophy of the epidermis. There's probably more, but that's what comes to mind right now.

... in a melanoma. Superficial scar coinciding with the presence of melanoma.
