Melting and boiling point effect on motion

At the melting point, energy goes into
1) increasing vibrational kinetic energy
2) increasing translation kinetic energy
3) breaking bonds

At the boiling point, energy goes into
same choices as above.

Answers can be combination of the 3
 
So the answers are for melting point, only bonds and translational kinetic energy. For boiling point, only bonds.

Not sure about melting point but I know for liquids the heat of vaporization (the energy required to convert a liquid to gas) is the highest of all the of state transitions because liquids can absorbed all types of energy (translational and vibrational). Also, when you go from a liquid to gas, you are breaking bonds so that the molecules can be free and go to a gas.
 
So for boiling, no energy is used to increase the translational kinetic energy of the molecules for them to escape the liquid? Only breaking of bonds?
