It’s prescribed to me the drug memantine for OCD , but I don’t wan’t take it, because I worry about something. I’m on low-calorie diet and I worry whether if I take the medicine, will stop losing weight. Gaining is among the common AEs.
Look at this from NCBI site: ”The treatment significantly attenuated body-weight loss and prolonged the life span of SCA1 KI mice.”
I taking also topiramate, metformine and sibutramine.
P.S.
Some research show that memantine can reduce antipsychotic-induced weight gain-exactly my case- Im gained after taking Olanzapine, but before I was thin.
Another studies recommended memantine for binge eating.
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT SO MANY DIFFERENT INFORMATION!
WELL- to take it , or not to take it- that is the question!
