Hey Guys/Gals-

We (the medical students and faculty at my school) are having a memorial service to honor those who donated their bodies for the benefit of our education ie. our cadavers and their families. I have been asked to speak briefly at the service reading a short story/poem of my choice that might be relevant. However, I'm really having a tough time finding something to read.

I was wondering if any of you had any ideas...maybe something that has been done at your school which touched you personally or that you felt was particularly appropriate.

Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated. Best of luck to all finishing up the year.

This is something that someone read in my dissection class:

Within Us 🙂
"You have given a gift to science that will transcend for eternity and we thank you. Your altruistic nature, the wisdom and experiences, and of course your love, are embedded in our hearts forever. You have given us the opportunity to explore and learn, as we have developed a new insight and respect for the human body. This knowledge will enable us to enhance the care and quality of many lives. Some of us will improve the lives of children and the elderly- others may pass on this vital information as professors. One thing is certain, however, that each of us now appreciate your kind and noble act. Perhaps we now understand that even when you expire, it is still possible to give. Many of us have different views on dying and some believe you have gone to a better place to live in peace and happiness, but I truly believe that you will always live within us." By Larry Flisser
