Should I memorize such things as UUU => Phe, CAG =>Gln? Do you think memorizing the start/stop codons is good enough?

Well, I just glanced at the AAMC outline and unfortunately for us, it says we have to know both the function and the codon sequences for the initiation and termination codons. However, you definitely don't need to memorize the entire table. That would be a ridiculous expectation.
