Menstruation
Started by DrRoyal Pains
During menstruation, a drop in both estrogen and progesterone causes the corpus luteum to atrophy, right?
correct
from my understanding:
corpus luteum provides a portion of the progesterone and estrogen which maintain the endometrium
when the egg isnt fertilized and hCG isnt produced (hCG is supposed to keep the corpus luteum 'alive' long enough until the placenta can take over the estrogen/progesterone production) then:
corpus luteum ---lack of hCG---> corpus albicans
therefore drop in estrogen and progesterone
therefore drop in endometrial maintenance
therefore sloughing
therefore menses commences
therefore messy panties
if someone can please help confirm and/or clarify this
