I am a re-applicant who was recently accepted to my dream DO school (yay). I have a few MD interviews approaching imminently I was curious whether to mention my DO acceptance? Obviously as a re-applicant, I did not get in the first time (duh), but I had a physician mentor of mine suggest bringing it up to show that a medical school was interested in me. My initial reaction was to think that this was a bad idea, but I wanted to post on here and see if there was any merit to this... If I am asked what I have done to strengthen my re-app or if I am asked why I did not get in the first time.

Nah. I don't think it will address their concern. What I think they'll want to hear from you is what introspection you've undergone and why you think you were unsuccessful the first cycle and what kind of self progress and development you went through to make yourself a stronger candidate.

They will decide for themselves whether they think that you are a strong enough candidate to consider for admission and what a DO school decided won't sway them from their own assessment.

Your physician mentor is wrong on this point. In most instances finding out an applicant has another acceptance does not make us want to fight for that person. It makes us relieved that we won't kill the person's dream if we don't accept them. Which makes it easier to waitlist or reject.
